New Gylly Beach Brand Finished!

After over a year of hard work and development, the new Gylly Beach cafe identity (as well as its interior re-fit) is complete. The cafe opened its doors last month to a brand-spanking new make over - all over, thanks to a real collaborative effort on Soups behalf! The case study will be up soon - in the meanwhile check out their new website we built for them!

Michael Gillette has been commissioned to create covers for the Ian Fleming Bond Novels commemorating the centenary of Flemings death. Super collectable and Out on the 28th of May....

A T-Shirt Everyday

I've been putting together a website/blog selling t-shirts over the last couple of weeks and its just gone live today. "Not another t-shirt website?!" you cry. Hopefully not as it has a few key differences and offers something for the creatively-minded:

• There is only one t-shirt of each design ever made - so they are all truly individual.
• There is a new one put online everyday (as the name suggests).
• The designs mostly just use a single woodblock typeface, which is something you don't see everyday.

You may have noticed recently that Google is continuing to push the boundaries of what is searchable online by making all of the patents filed in America available to view at Google Patents.

Everything from the famous to the ridiculous (underwear? really?) is present with some great inspiration to be had, particularly with the technical drawings that show how many of these inventions (should) work.

Just uploaded most of the portfolio. Theres still some unfinished bits and you'll probably find some ipsum lorem in there. As of now Carn to Cove, Eight, Fine Grime, FXU, Super Numbers Thinking Differently and Rawplug are up. The others will follow as soon as possible.

We are also working on multiple pages for each project so I imagine the portfolio will grow over the next couple of weeks.

If you like music but want to know a bit more behind the artists and the music industry, you might want to check out the Red Bull Music Academy Lectures. (Especially the ?uestlove one) Good to listen to whilst working I find.

Watch them via the website or subscribe via iTunes podcasts.

(the Website videos includes music the lecturers/artist play which is edited out on the podcasts)

Well worth a listen.

For a quick bit of inspirational thinking, look to the streets. I love looking at graffiti like this - some of the driest humour you'll find anywhere.

There's loads and loads to get through too: the writing is on the wall.

Well the title say is all really, although technically they are 19th Century clipper trading cards advertising voyages, not posters. I really wanted to write that they were like 'olden day' Top Trumps, but they aren't.

Some lovely typography and illustrations in amongst the set.

Welcome to the latest incarnation of the Soup Design website. It's still very much a work in-progress, no portfolio etc - so there may well be some tweaks and re adjustments made to the site over the next few weeks, so bare with us, it'll be worth it.
